alined design is built on the notion of modern tradition: the union of quality craftsmanship and relevant design. I believe that good design means that the quality of a product benefits everyone: designer, builder, owner, and generations to come. Blending influence from 1970’s Scandinavian design, traditional woodworking joinery, and modern, everyday life, alined design aims to produce pieces for real life and for life.

alined design was founded by me, Aaron Sachs, on the basis of designing interesting and well-built furniture pieces for the everyday. With experience as a design engineer, fabricator, and installer in the custom furniture industry for 10+ years in Chicago and beyond, I’ve learned so many different ways to love what I do.

I believe there is beauty in cohesion. Designing in harmony with fabrication methods, use cases, and material intentions; leave nothing unconsidered.
